National Renewable Energy Center officially established

With the approval of the National Energy Administration, on February 23, the National Renewable Energy Center was established in Beijing. The National Renewable Energy Center (Non-corporate Agency) is positioned to assist the national energy authorities in conducting research and organization of renewable energy policies and harmonizing industry management operations. The main tasks of the center are strategy, planning, research on policies and regulations, organization and implementation of national comprehensive demonstration projects, improvement of organization and coordination of industrial service system construction, information statistics and consulting services, and domestic and foreign cooperation and exchanges. The center has a steering committee, a management committee, and an advisory committee. They are the deputy director of the National Energy Administration Liu Qi, the deputy director of the New Energy Division of the National Energy Administration Shi Lishan, and the former dean of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Du Fuxiang. Deputy Director of the High-tech Division Chen Jiachang of the Ministry of Science and Technology served as a member of the Steering Committee.
