The rapid growth of China's gear production in the first half of 2012

As a basic component, gears are widely used in many host industries such as automotive vehicles, aerospace, and various types of mechanical equipment, and are related to the quality of equipment manufacturing and the development level of the national economy. As a key component of high-end and complex equipment hosts such as automobile transmissions, gear potential can not be ignored. Especially in recent years, driven by the rapid development of automobiles, wind power, high-speed rail and infrastructure, the gear industry has shown rapid development. According to the “2012-2017 China Gear Market Competition and Investment Prospects Analysis Report” published by China Business Intelligence Network, the national gear production reached 976,900 tons in the first half of 2012, a year-on-year increase of 47.14%. In June, China produced 180,000 tons of gears, an increase of 50.18% year-on-year.

Judging from the output of all provinces and cities, in the first half of 2012, the output of gears in Jiangsu Province reached 257,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.38%, accounting for 26.30% of the country's total output. Followed by Heilongjiang Province, Zhejiang Province and Hubei Province, accounting for 21.75%, 12.18% and 10.58% of the total output respectively.

As the gear product market matures, China will become a global gear power. During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, China’s gear industry faces historical development opportunities of adjustment and rejuvenation, and changes from strong to strong. Competition in domestic and foreign markets has intensified, and domestic deep-level contradictions will inevitably affect the progress of the industry. However, the basic forces that promote the innovation and development of the industry's technological progress are irreversible. It is expected that the industry will achieve stable growth with an average annual growth rate of around 30% in the process of transformation and upgrading.
