"Administrative Regulations on Environmental Protection of Imported Waste Plastics" issued

The Ministry of Environmental Protection has recently issued the "Administrative Regulations on the Environmental Protection of Imported Waste Plastics". According to regulations, chemical fiber and other four types of enterprises can apply for importing waste plastics for processing and utilization.

These four types of enterprises include: First, chemical fiber production enterprises using PET as raw materials; second, plastics production enterprises (including other product companies using waste plastics as raw materials); and third, plastic recycling and granulation enterprises (recycled PET) Except sheet production enterprises; 4) Recycling PET sheet production enterprises with an annual production capacity of equipment of not less than 30,000 tons at the same processing site (only for scraps and scraps for importing PET).

The regulations require that the processing and utilization enterprises must have a series of conditions, including compliance with the provisions of relevant management measures, no specific illegal acts in the past two years, no specific pollution of the environment in the past year, and submitting to the competent environmental protection authority at or above the municipal level where they are located.
