So last May, Chen Wenrong emerged from the idea of ​​self-made electric cars.

Create an electric car first

Chen Wenrong initially built a simple four-wheeled electric vehicle. The wheels were driven by chains, there was no awning, no solar panels, and the wheels had no inflatable rubber ring. It took more than two months from designing, buying materials, to assembly, debugging, and running to the car.

Not long after the electric vehicle was built, Chen Wenrong discovered that there were many problems with the car. For example, if a tire without an inflatable rubber ring is hard, the car will run up bumpy; the chain that drives the wheel will fall out easily; without the sun visor, the daughter will be basking in summer... so he decides to rebuild a car.

Rebuilding solar electric vehicles

Chen Wenrong installed a bracket around the car to place a sun visor. The seat was designed as an inverted T-shaped. The daughter sat in front of him. He sat in the back and controlled the direction; replaced the wheels with inflatable rubber tires, and bought a counterweight. The shock device was installed in the car; to ensure safety, he installed a bumper bar made of foam rubber around the car; the car's corner was fitted with LED lights and kept flashing after driving.

The biggest change in the second car is the addition of solar panels, which can both shelter from rain and store electricity. Chen Wenrong spent more than 2000 yuan to buy a solar panel and changed the electric vehicle into a solar electric vehicle.

Can run 40 kilometers at a time

It took Chen Wenrong two or three months to build the second car. The new car was finally completed in October last year. Chen Wenrong said that he originally planned to use glass fiber reinforced plastic as the material for the vehicle body. He consulted a number of factories and ran for more than one month. Because glass fiber reinforced plastic was used at a small price, he could only give up.

Chen Wenrong, a “mood car” made by himself, is very satisfied because his daughter likes to sit in this car. “I often drove her out to play and the airport took her to the airport several times.” Chen Wenrong said: “When the sun is strong, I can charge 40 kilometers with the electricity generated by the solar panel and the maximum speed. It's 15 kilometers!" He calculated roughly. The car runs about 1 kilometer for about 1 cent.

Chen Wenrong told reporters that there are still many places in the car that need to be improved. In the future, he will install windshields and windshields for the car, replace the top solar mask with a whole piece, and make the seat more comfortable. “Without windshields and wind deflectors, children will be cold in winter. The solar panels on the roof are not customized. If the whole solar panel is customized, the car can run more than 50 kilometers.”
