Following the successful sale of more than 2,300 successful SL series machines worldwide, this world-first machine at EMO was developed for customers in the energy technology, petroleum and hydraulics and mechanical engineering industries. The turret and modern CELOS spindle user interface allow the NLX6000|2000 to meet the user's requirements for efficient machining and future large workpiece production.
The NLX6000|2000 has a high-rigidity 45° sloping bed, all with a flat guide rail with a width of 180mm, so the machine has the best damping performance and dynamic rigidity. The ball screw diameter of 50 mm and the integrated spindle head of the electric spindle and the self-contained tailstock ensure a higher stability during the machining process. The machine tool processing area is also wide. With a maximum turning diameter of 920 mm and a maximum turning length of 2000 mm, the largest machine in the NLX series has a turning capacity of XXL. This is further evidenced by the X-axis travel length of 485 mm, the Y-axis travel of 200 mm (±100 mm) and the Z-axis travel of 2150 mm. The maximum chuck size is 600mm.
Similar to the processing zone, the spindle aperture is also large. The through hole sizes are 185 mm (type B), 285 mm (type C) and 375 mm (type D). It is equipped with a powerful drive, with a B-type large-aperture spindle with a torque of 7000 Nm and two larger models with a 12000 Nm machine. The milling performance of the NLX6000|2000 turret achieves the high performance of the milling machine: BMT technology with built-in drive motor, maximum speed of 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 117 Nm. The turret is equipped with 12 power knives.
