“People don’t usually know that indoor air is worse than outdoor,†said Dustin Jefferson Onghanseng, co-founder and CEO of uHoo. “We spend an average of 80% of our time indoors: we sleep indoors at night, go to 7:00 in the morning. I still have to stay indoors when I go to work. We may go out when we have lunch. But in general, most of our time is spent indoors."
uHoo can monitor the indoor air quality at home or in the office through a variety of sensors, and the monitoring data is transmitted to the user's smartphone. The equipment monitors temperature, humidity, PM2.5, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, etc. Through the monitoring of these data, uHoo's machine learning algorithm can learn the overall trend of users and create a more optimized indoor environment in the future.
uHoo has designed personally customized warnings and recommendations to help them adjust their behavior based on the user's situation (such as the prompt "Do not use bleach to clean items"). Some indoor air monitoring devices have appeared on the market, and uHoo differs in that it positions itself as a protector for users with respiratory diseases.
