Jiangxi, Fujian and other places in southern China are rich in citrus, and a large amount of citrus peel remaining after citrus processing becomes agricultural waste and is piled up everywhere. Only a few regional farmers feed fertile citrus peels to feed the cattle and sheep. The reason why this fermentation technology cannot be fully promoted is because the fermenting agent is difficult to buy locally, and the specific operation is even less known. After years of practical research by Beijing Huaxia Kangyuan Technology Co., Ltd., a golden baby feed starter specially designed for citrus peel has been developed. The operation is simple, the fermentation time is short, and the success rate is extremely high. The specific methods are as follows:
First, crush the orange peel, the fresh orange peel has a water content of about 80%, add about 25% of the total wheat bran or corn flour, and adjust the water to about 65%. The judgment method is: tightly mix the fermented materials. Grab a hand, see the watermark but not dripping, and loosen the floor to spread it. If it is dried orange peel, add the corresponding amount of wheat bran directly, add water to about 65%. Finally, the Jinbao feed starter is evenly mixed according to the ratio of two thousandths. The water regulation here is very important. If the water content is too high, the porosity of the material will be lowered, the fermentation viscosity will be too large, and the volume and gas exchange of the gas in the material will be reduced. It is difficult to ventilate and cool down, causing the temperature to rise too high during fermentation, affecting the bacteria. Body growth, which will significantly reduce the crude protein content of the material and increase the risk of contamination by bacteria. However, if the amount of water is too low, the growth of microorganisms is inhibited, especially in the later stage, the metabolic activities of the microbial cells and evaporation cause the materials to be dry, which seriously affects the fermentation effect.
Next, prepare a fermentation vessel. Fermentation tanks or plastic bags can be used for a small amount of fermentation, and a fermenter can be constructed by a user with a large amount of fermentation. The smallest container should be able to hold at least 50 kg of material. The material is then placed in a container and sealed.
Finally, about 3-4 days or so, when the sealing cover is opened, a faint scent of wine can be smelled, indicating that the fermentation is completed. Fermented feed can be fed to cows (other birds can also be fed). If the fermentation time is too short, the desired protein content cannot be achieved, and if the time is too long, the production cost is increased and the bacteria are easily grown. After the fermentation is successful, the general situation can replace 15% to 30% of the concentrate.
Why do you have to feed directly after fermentation? The citrus peel fermented with Jinbao feed starter is 30% to 50% higher than the protein in the citrus peel before fermentation. Other vitamins, minerals and amino acids are also significantly increased to compensate for the lack of vitamins and dry matter in cereals. After the experiment, if you feed the cows, each kilogram of citrus peel feed can increase milk production by about 2 kg. Moreover, the beneficial microorganisms contained in the golden baby feed starter can inhibit the colonization and growth of the pathogenic microorganisms, thereby greatly improving the immunity and disease resistance of the animals.
