Develops the Thinnest Circuit Board for Medical Devices

The Japanese NHK TV station reported on July 25th that a team of researchers such as the University of Tokyo has developed the thinnest circuit board in the world. The board is only one-fifth the thickness of the cling film and is expected to be invested in medical device applications. In addition, the research results will be published in the UK scientific journal Nature on the 25th.

According to reports, the circuit board was jointly developed by the University of Tokyo and the University of Austria. It is shaped like a plate and is only one-fifth of the thickness of the cling film. It weighs only one-third of the equivalent copy paper. At the same time, the circuit board has excellent flexibility and can be bent. Even if it is stretched twice, it can be restored.

It is reported that because the circuit board can be installed close to the human body, it is expected to achieve its application in medical and health equipment. Professor Yoshihide Yoshihiko, a professor at the University of Tokyo who developed the circuit board, said that even in daily life, the sensor for measuring heart rate and body temperature, which is manufactured on the circuit board, will not be noticed on the human body.
